EXOARMOR®
ALL Prime bats feature EXOARMOR,
a revolutionary nish that doubles the surface hardness of the bat. Three coats of EXOARMOR gives these bats a hardness you can hear and feel with every swing.
INK DOT
Louisville Slugger® ink-dotted bats are
the highest quality wood bats in the game. Every maple and birch PRIME bat that meet slope-of-grain carries the Ink Dot and are approved for play in Major League Baseball®.
MAPLE
The dominant wood species in Major League Baseball, maple bats are known for their surface hardness, stiffer feel and unmatched sound.
SEAMLESS DECALS
Louisville Slugger’s innovative Seamless Decal technology give MLB Prime bats a pristine look – even after countless trips to the plate. Branding applied without added stress from pressure and heat blends into the bat as intricately as the grain itself, leading to a bat made of wood in
its purest, hardest form.
ASH
The original wood species in Major League Baseball, ash bats are generally lighter than other species and have a lighter weight feel and more exibility upon contact.
NEW END BRAND
With an updated, condensed look,
the new Louisville Slugger end brands blend awlessly into every MLB Prime bat, thanks to innovative Seamless Decal technology.
BIRCH
One of the newer, but fastest
growing wood species in Major League Baseball, birch bats feature a surface hardness close to that of maple but increased exibility.
WOOD SPECIES
Louisville Slugger is dedicated to crafting wood bats perfect for each player. We offer three wood species: maple, ash and birch. So no matter how you like your lumber, the team at Louisville Slugger has you covered.
Everyone talks about the length and weight of their baseball bat. But swing weight might be one of the most impactful ways to classify bats. Swing weight is a determination of how a bat’s weight is distributed along its length. More weight toward the end of the barrel means you’re swinging an end-loaded bat. These models create more momentum in a player's swing and generate more power and distance. Evenly distributed weight in balanced bats allow for a potentially greater swing speed for many hitters – perfect for players who focus on bat control and increased contact.
